I act as the official spokesperson for the Mayor and City, managing press releases and advising leadership. I work with the media to ensure transparency and access to officials and public records.
As a FEMA-certified Public Information Officer, I am the steady voice of the City during public safety incidents. I provide a filter for high-stakes news and prepare elected and public safety officials for media briefings.
I manage the steady flow of information from the Mayor's office and eight City departments. This often involves translating technical government information Iinto something residents can actually use.
I oversee the municipal television studio operations, broadcast, and video scriptwriting.

Organizing press conferences during crisis incidents requires speed, reach, and accuracy. After historic flooding, I was tasked with organizing a press conference for the City of Annapolis that included state and county elected officials.

For the 2025 municipal elections, I wrote a 14 month communications plan that covered everything from candidate filings to polling places and election returns. The year 2025 brought the City historic voter turnout.

When City of Annapolis officials began to convert the City's fleet from diesel and natural gas to electric, I organized a press conference to showcase all of the City's e-fleet offerings. I directed the designs of the e-bus and e-cart wraps.

For Annapolis' participation in the National Community Survey, I wrote and executed a communications plan that delivered some of the highest national response rates. Above is a sample postcard and social media graphic.

Each year, the City publishes a department-by-department report of municipal service delivery. I write the copy, design the layout and select the photos with oversight of departments. Read the 2025 Annual Report HERE.

The City of Annapolis acquired an historic piece of property in 2022. The property belonged to two sisters who operated a Western Shore (Chesapeake Bay) retreat open to all during the time of Jim Crow segregation. The panels line the walk to the beach and tell the story of "The Beach."
